EVIAN 1925 Exposition Canine SOURCE CACHET Gold French Plaque Medal by F. This is a beautiful plaque that depicts the famous EVIAN spring in France. Evian water - now famous all over the world originated from this famous spring. Struck by the Monnaie de Paris (Paris Mint). Edge incused: BRONZE with Cornucopia mint hallmark. Obverse: depicts a seated nude female in a mountainous landscape; holding her hand out in the water from a spring. In exergue below: SOURCE CACHAT. BEYLARD SCULPT and on the right F. Reverse: six-line inscription: EVIAN/ OFFERT/ PAR LA SOCIETE / DES EAUX/ EXPOSITION CANINE / 1925. English Translation: OFFERED BY THE WATER COMPANY / CANINE EXPOSITION / 1925. Vernon originally designed this plaquette for the Inauguration of the Evian Baths on August 16, 1902. The plaquette was distributed to friends and employees of the facility. The reverse inscription indicates that this plaque was re-issued as a prize years later at the 1925 Exposition Canine and was awarded by the French water distribution company Evian.
